Meet Our Team

Sarah

In a nutshell, what do you do?

I offer intensive support for the young person and/or family around practical steps needed to preserve the relationship and enable the young person to grow and thrive. These can include – education and training, family relationships, anger and violence, emotional wellbeing, budgeting and more.

What appealed most about joining hyh?

I believe that many young people are not equipped or have the support to deal with the challenges that can affect their mental health and well-being or have the knowledge and understanding to make informed decisions. I want to be part of their support network, so they do not have to face these difficulties alone.

What is the most challenging part of what you do?

When relationships have broken down at home and some families feel that they cannot be fixed. Trying to build the confidence and awareness of how they can all make changes can sometimes be a struggle.

What is the most rewarding thing?

Where we can achieve positive outcomes! To see the young people I work with blossom, for them to realise how great they are and their potentials.😊

What do you hope to achieve whilst working at hyh?

I would like to prevent youth homelessness! To support more young people and their families with their mental health and well-being and be a listening ear when it’s needed most.
