Job role: Community Fundraising Officer
In a nutshell, what do you do?
I support community groups who would like to raise awareness and vital funds for Herts Young Homeless
What appealed most about joining hyh?
I have always wanted a job where I can help to support others, so when a position came up to work for a charity which is making such a positive change to young people's lives in my own local community, it was a no-brainer.
What is the most challenging part of what you do?
Hearing the incredible work my colleagues are doing to support young people and wanting to reach as many groups as I can to raise the vital funds needed to reach even more young people in need. There are lots of fantastic and important charities in Hertfordshire, so reaching the groups who would like to support us can be challenging.
What is the most rewarding thing?
The passion groups have to support hyh and the sense of pride when they have completed a fundraiser. Every amount raised, no matter how large or small, helps to make a big difference to people’s lives. It's heartwarming to see people's desire to help others.
What do you hope to achieve whilst working at hyh?
I hope to spread awareness of the great work of hyh as much as I can across the county.
