In a nutshell, what do you do?
I work with our supporters to raise money for and awareness of the work of hyh. As a Community fundraiser, I work with individuals, uniformed groups like Guides and Scouts, schools, Rotary, Probus and other clubs, faith groups and many others. If someone want to raise money for us, I support them to do this.
What appealed to you most about joining hyh?
I love working for a local charity that is making a difference to the young people where I live. When I talk to our supporters about what we do, I feel proud that the money they help to raise makes such an impact.
What is the most challenging part of what you do?
Hertfordshire is a big area to cover and there are only so many hours in the day.
What is the most rewarding thing?
When supporters feel like their efforts have been appreciated and they come back to do more. Repeat supporters are so valuable to us as a charity and we are really fortunate to have some great ones.
What do you hope to achieve whilst working at hyh?
To keep spreading the word about what we do as a charity and to support as many people as I can who want to support us.
