In a nutshell, what do you do?
I co-manage our prevention services which include education, mediation and our HUB service.
What appealed to you most about joining hyh?
I have worked for hyh twice during my career; returning to hyh felt like returning ‘home’ to a charity that cared passionately about young people but also the well-being and professionalism of its staff.
What is the most challenging part of what you do?
The most challenging part is also, for me, the positive part…working in the charity sector you become multi-skilled…all our services support one another which creates a great opportunity for variety. One day I may be interviewing new job applicants, the next teaching in a school, or attending a fundraising event; no two weeks are the same.
What is the most rewarding thing?
The ability to be flexible and creative to develop and change services to meet need.
What do you hope to achieve whilst working at hyh?
I hope we collectively help young people in Herts to make informed life choices so that they can avoid crisis and live happy, healthy lives.
