Job role: Wellbeing Worker
In a nutshell, what do you do?
I am one of the mediators mainly working with 16 – 24 year-olds.
What appealed most about joining hyh?
I was drawn to the amazing work the charity was doing for young people, I also related to hyh values around being open and big hearted.
What is the most challenging part of what you do?
Getting young people to engage with us is the biggest challenge, but it can also be difficult listening to some of the situations some of our families have to face.
What is the most rewarding thing?
When our families listen to each other and acknowledge each other’s point of view. It’s great to hear they have been implementing the changes we discussed previously and the conflict between them has improved.
What do you hope to achieve whilst working at hyh?
I hope that I can improve the relationships of the families I work with in any way.
