In a nutshell, what do you do?
I work in the HR team, advising, guiding and supporting managers and employees with all people related topics. We get involved in a range of tasks including, administering the lifecycle activities in an employee’s tenure, development of policies, recruitment, support and managing employee relations and other people related projects.
What appealed to you most about joining hyh?
I first looked the website and watched some of the videos on there and the biggest thing for me was to work for an organisation that was helping others and making a difference. I wanted to work for somewhere that genuinely cared about others and somewhere I too could support and make a difference.
What is the most challenging part of what you do?
Generally speaking, HR can be challenging, there are a lot of expectations and as professionals we all want to do our best to make a difference and add value. Probably for me the challenging parts are the not so nice but necessary sides of HR, the employee relation situations that don’t always end as you would want them to. Thankfully, I haven’t come across too many not so nice parts while I have been here at hyh!
What is the most rewarding thing?
Making a positive impact to the teams so that could be anything from helping them recruit much needed team members to advising a line manager how to approach a difficult discussion and having a constructive outcome for both parties.
What do you hope to achieve whilst working at hyh?
I hope to be able strengthen our HR function and continue to help wonderful team at hyh continue to do an amazing job.
