Meet Our Team

Caroline

In a nutshell, what do you do?

I manage our small – and wonderful - fundraising and communications team

What appealed to you most about joining hyh?

I love working for a homeless charity which has such a strong emphasis on prevention. hyh have a strong brand, offer much-needed services and have an excellent reputation in the local area with Herts County Council, local housing authorities and charity partners. The services hyh provide are really essential for young people and their families who are facing extremely difficult circumstances. Our charity can demonstrate that we genuinely make a difference in achieving positive outcomes for young people and that really counts!

What is the most challenging part of what you do?

Raising funds during the pandemic and now with the cost of living crisis is challenging! However, I’m very fortunate to work with such a creative and adaptable team who find new and interesting ways to connect and engage with supporters. We are extremely fortunate to have some very loyal long term donors as well as new supporters who can appreciate the difference our charity is making to young people in our local community even during these challenging times.

What is the most rewarding thing?

All fundraisers find receiving a cheque or a bank transfer extremely exciting!  It gives us a huge buzz to know that the funds we have worked hard to raise are going to be used to benefit young people in need of our help.

What do you hope to achieve whilst working at hyh?

I would love more people across Hertfordshire to be aware of our services and to choose to support us so that hyh can continue to develop our services and help even more young people who are at risk of homelessness.
