In a nutshell, what do you do?
I work as a Mediator for families who are in conflict or at risk of falling apart/breakdown. We work to try and rebuild relationships and work in a future-focused way.
How is working in the hyh team?
I had heard about the ethos of HYH and how kind-hearted and dedicated everyone is. This kind of vibe really appealed to me and the team here are so supportive of each other and genuinely care about the work we do.
What is the most challenging part of what you do?
I’d say the hardest part of my role is not being able to give much advice. Our role is to encourage the families to make their own changes and find their own answers, we are just there to help facilitate that. Sometimes it’s hard not to give all the solutions!
What is the most rewarding thing?
The most rewarding thing is seeing families reunited and gain a deeper understanding of each other. When a family is dedicated to improving things, the results can be incredible for them. It’s amazing to see that come together over a number of weeks working together.
What do you hope to achieve whilst working at hyh?
I hope to be someone who makes a real difference to families and for Mediation to be something that clients can say changed their lives for the better.
