Track Day!

It’s safe to say that we didn’t discover the next ‘Lewis Hamilton’ at our charity Track Day on 4th July, but everybody certainly had a fantastic time karting around the historic Rye House Race Track.

We welcomed the teams to the infamous venue and gave everybody their kits. Once everybody had gotten into gear, they had their breakfast rolls and morning coffees before the safety briefing began. As staff, we were really hoping people paid extra attention to the reminder that these were NOT bumper cars!

We then gave everyone the chance to ‘Bid for Grid’, placing secret bids to assign their places in the initial line up. At this point, everyone was certainly revved up and ready to hit the track for their practice laps.

The races then kicked off, and as staff, we were on the edge of our seats watching the live leaderboard on the screens!

And just when our drivers were too tired (or should I say four-tired) to continue, it was time for lunch. When everyone was nice and fuelled up on delicious burgers, we kicked off our charity auction and raffle, where brilliant prizes were won, including a hot air balloon ride!

A massive thank you to our sponsors for the event, Tarmac and Harrisons. Thank you to the Rye House race track for their wonderful hospitality, and to our charity partners Helping Herts, for match funding the money raised.

Overall, the event made a staggering £10,000! We are absolutely overwhelmed by this fantastic total. The impact this is going to have on the young people we support in Hertfordshire is incredible.

We hope to see everyone again next year!
