Dream United Stadium Sleepout!
On Friday 1st March, we joined forces with a variety of other homelessness charities, for the Stadium Sleepout at Vicarage Road Stadium! Alongside Watford FC’s Community Sports and Education Trust, One YMCA, Dens, and New Hope, we hosted the once in a lifetime opportunity for people to switch their beds for sleeping bags and spend the night in the iconic stands of Watford’s stadium.
We were joined by over 200 people from the local community for a night under the stars, with attendees having the rare opportunity to experience what the stadium is like when all the fans have gone home. Not only was this event a wonderful experience, but it has also raised awareness of homelessness in Watford and the surrounding districts, with an array of special guests sharing information and available services for homelessness.
This included stories from individuals who have experienced homelessness. We were even joined by the Watford Mayor Peter Taylor!
This event was also a massive fundraiser, raising vital funds which were split between the charities involved. Without this generosity from our community, we wouldn’t be able to provide the variety of vital services that we do, across the county.
The scale of this event was truly mindblowing, with banners and billboards taking over Watford roads and bus stops. We even featured on Heart local radio!
Thank you so much to our Champion sponsor ‘Imagine’ Estate Agents, and to our Premier sponsors, Topgolf, Warner Bros Studio Tour, NHS West Herts Hospitals, and Levy.
The event was truly a night to remember!
