Own very own Educator, Sarah, recently did a Ted Talk at TEDX St Albans and we are so proud of the message she conveyed!
Homelessness is a preventable problem; as mentioned by Sarah, this can be tackled by preventing young people from becoming homeless in the first instance. Sarah challenges the perceptions of what homelessness is and what our paradigms around it are. She suggests that the core of the solution lies in communication and avoiding the downward spiral of family breakdown. Her talk aims to raise awareness of youth homelessness and the value of building empathy through education and understanding.
Sarah has always been passionate about supporting others, and whilst studying Philosophy at university, became involved in her first homeless charity before beginning work as an Educator at hyh.
Sarah has truly demonstrated one of our core values in being an expert in youth homelessness. Please take 10 minutes to watch her incredible speech!
